What Is Rejuran

Regenerative injectable treatment

What Is Rejuran and How Does It Work?

Rejuran is an injectable skin treatment made from highly purified polynucleotides (PN), derived from salmon DNA. These molecules are biocompatible with our DNA and work by supporting the skin’s natural repair processes. Unlike dermal fillers, Rejuran focuses on improving the condition of the skin itself—not adding volume—despite its gel-like appearance. By encouraging tissue repair at a cellular level, Rejuran can gradually improve skin texture and resilience over time.

What it can help with

Polynucleotides help support skin regeneration, improve elasticity, strengthen the skin barrier, enhance hydration and reduce inflammation. Over time, Rejuran can gradually improve skin texture and resilience.

Rejuran is also commonly used to improve the appearance of mild to moderate acne scarring, shallow atrophic scars, uneven skin texture and enlarged pores.

Important note

Results are gradual and not immediate. Rejuran may improve the appearance of scarring, but it does not permanently remove scars.

Who is it for?

Rejuran may suit patients concerned about fine lines, dull or tired-looking skin, reduced elasticity and early signs of aging. It can help improve overall skin quality and radiance.

Improvements tend to develop gradually over several weeks as the skin regenerates, and results are not immediate. Given the purification process removes proteins that could trigger immune reactions, Rejuran is generally well tolerated in most patients.

A thorough consultation prior to treatment is essential to determine whether this treatment is suitable for you.

What to expect during and post treatment

Rejuran is an injectable treatment, therefore numbing will be provided to ease any discomfort associated with the injections. Injections are made into the skin to distribute the product across the chosen area, commonly the under-eye region and/or full face and/or neck.

Because Rejuran is placed within the dermis, small bumps and some swelling are expected immediately after injections, then begin to subside over the next 24–72 hours. Patients should expect some visible downtime as redness, mild bruising and tenderness can occur.

The treatment can take anywhere from 30–45 minutes.

Risks

Rejuran is generally well tolerated when performed by a trained medical professional. However, as with any injectable treatment, there are risks and potential side effects. Patients should be fully informed before proceeding.

Common and expected (usually temporary)

Swelling, small raised bumps (papules), bruising, tenderness or mild discomfort—often settling within a few days (bruising may last longer).

Less common

Prolonged swelling or inflammation (more likely with reactive/sensitive skin), infection risk (reduced with sterile technique and aftercare), persistent lumps/unevenness (uncommon).

Allergy / hypersensitivity

Possible in patients with known fish allergies or sensitivities—this should be disclosed during consultation.

Rare but serious complications

Vascular compromise (if product is inadvertently injected into or compresses a blood vessel) requires immediate medical management; delayed inflammatory reactions can occur weeks later.

If you experience severe pain, changes in skin colour, worsening swelling, fever, or any concerning symptoms after treatment, seek urgent medical care.

Is Rejuran right for you?

Rejuran is suitable for individuals looking to enhance skin quality and improve the appearance of scarring without adding volume. A consultation is essential to assess your skin, discuss expectations, and determine whether this treatment fits your goals.
