PRP Skin Rejuvenation
What is PRP for skin rejuvenation?
PRP is micro-needled onto the face using injecting Platelet Rich Plasma. Micro-wounds are made in the skin using a medical-grade device and the PRP is injected into these areas. This targets the lower layers of the skin to stimulate the cells to produce collagen and elastin. The skin will become thicker and tighter. The treatment can help reduce fine lines and wrinkle, pore size, pigmentation dark circles, scars, including acne scarring, and improve the overall quality of the skin. The tone and texture of the skin will improve, resulting in smoother, firmer and more-even skin.
What is Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP)?
Our blood is made up of four components; red blood cells, white blood cells, plasma and platelets. PRP is a blood component. Platelets work by reacting to cuts and wounds to clot blood and aid healing. Plasma contains nutrients, proteins and growth factors that repair damage and injuries. These components are therefore useful to stimulate the cells in the lower layers of the skin to produce collagen and elastin.
What happens during the procedure?
The face will be cleansed and numbing cream will be applied. A sample of blood is then taken from the arm and spun in the centrifuge; to separate the blood components. The face is cleansed again to remove the numbing cream. A medical grade micro needling device is used to create micro-wound to allow the penetration of the PRP into the skin. Following the treatment, antiseptic cream is applied.

Frequently Asked Questions
No, the treatment does not hurt. To ensure comfort, we apply numbing cream to the face prior to treatment and the micro-needles are very fine and don’t cause any discomfort.
There will be slight erythema (redness) to the face for 1-3 days. Do not wash or touch your face for the next 8 hours, to reduce the risk of infection. Otherwise, normal daily activities can resume! There may be dryness for the following 5-7 days while the dead skin cells slough off, followed by a youthful glow.
As the cells are constantly producing collagen, results will show about 7 days later but can gradually improve for up to 6 months. We recommend 3-6 treatments for best results.
