Rejuran

Skin Rejuvenation Treatment

Rejuran

Rejuran is an injectable skin treatment that originated from South Korea. It uses polynucleotides that are derived from wild salmon DNA and highly compatible with human skin, to repair and rejuvenate skin on a cellular level. It is different to dermal fillers in that it does not add volume, but instead stimulates collagen and elastin production to help overall skin elasticity and texture.

What is Rejuran?

Rejuran is an injectable skin treatment that uses polynucleotides derived from wild salmon DNA. These are highly compatible with human skin and work to support repair and rejuvenation on a cellular level. Unlike dermal fillers, Rejuran does not add volume—rather, it helps stimulate collagen and elastin production to improve skin elasticity and texture.

How does Rejuran work?

Rejuran contains polynucleotides from wild salmon DNA, which are very similar to those in human skin DNA. These polynucleotides activate fibroblasts (cells responsible for producing collagen and elastin).

Once injected into the dermis, it can act as a scaffold and provide building blocks to promote cell repair and regeneration—supporting improved skin texture, reduced acne scarring and reduced pore size. Rejuran may also have an anti-inflammatory effect, strengthening the skin barrier and enhancing hydration.

For best results, a course of 3 treatments is recommended, around 4 weeks apart.

What to expect with Rejuran

The treatment takes around 45 minutes up to 1 hour, with numbing cream applied for comfort and a series of small injections done in the selected problem areas.

After the treatment, you may experience some redness, swelling, red bumps at the injection sites, and tenderness around the treated areas. These symptoms should resolve within 24–48 hours.

Around 2–4 weeks after the first treatment, subtle results may be visible, such as smoother and more hydrated skin. After 3–6 months when collagen has fully remodelled, skin tone and texture may improve.

A course of 3 treatments is recommended for optimal results, done 4 weeks apart.

FAQ’s

Is there much downtime after the procedure?
The downtime after a Rejuran treatment is minimal, with most people returning to their usual activities immediately. Common side effects include redness, swelling, tenderness and small bumps at the injection sites— these are expected but generally subside within 24–48 hours. Bruising can also occur, so it is recommended to do treatment at least 2 weeks before an important event. Refrain from exercise and sun exposure for 24–48 hours after treatment.
How long do results last?
The recommended course is 3 treatments around 4 weeks apart; results typically last 6–12 months. Maintenance treatments every 6–12 months are recommended to sustain results and maintain skin texture and hydration. Results can be impacted by factors including age, lifestyle, skin condition and aftercare compliance.
Will I see immediate results?
Rejuran does not offer immediate results. Visible improvements can occur 2–4 weeks after a treatment, with full results around the 2–3-month mark as collagen starts remodelling. This may look like more even skin tone and texture, improved elasticity and reduced fine lines and wrinkles. After 3–6 months, collagen remodelling has progressed and you may see longer-lasting rejuvenation.
What does the treatment involve?
After a thorough consultation with one of our registered cosmetic nurses, numbing cream is applied for comfort. After 15–20 minutes, the numbing is removed and Rejuran is injected via a series of micro-injections into the dermis of the treatment areas. You may experience redness, swelling and small visible bumps which should settle within 24–48 hours. The whole procedure takes around 45 minutes to 1 hour.
Is PRP or Rejuran better for under eyes?
Both PRP and Rejuran can be suitable options for improving the under-eye area. Rejuran uses polynucleotides to promote collagen production and hydration, which may help with thin, crepey and dehydrated skin under the eyes. PRP uses growth factors from platelets to stimulate collagen and improve skin texture, which may improve the appearance of dark circles. We recommend booking a free consultation with one of our registered nurses to discuss which option best suits your concerns.
