What are fat dissolving injections?
Fat dissolving treatment is an effective way to decrease the appearance of unwanted fatty areas such as a double chin, back fat rolls, or other areas of stubborn excess fat. Fat dissolving injections are made up of two active ingredients that when injected target and destroy the surrounding fat cells. This causes the treated area to shrink and appear ‘tighter’.
What happens during the treatment?
The site is numbed using numbing cream to allow for as minimal discomfort as possible. The area to be treated is then carefully mapped out so that the injections are evenly placed creating a natural fat-loss result. A series of small injections are made across the entire surface area. From start to finish, the treatment usually takes approximately 30 mins depending on the size of the treated area.

Is it painful?
Any treatment involving needles implies a certain level of discomfort. Clients are assured that numbing cream is generously applied, and care is taken when injections take place.
How many treatments will I need?
Clients can typically expect to require at least two or three treatments depending on the area and personal goals, although it is entirely possible to be effective with one treatment on its own. One treatment can result in up to a 40% visual improvement and often provides for a subtle yet effective result.
Are there any risks involved?
As with all cosmetic treatments, there are risks involved with fat dissolving injections. These may include side effects that subside, such as swelling, bruising, redness and pain, but also can include more serious complications that should be discussed thoroughly with the treatment provider before any procedure is undertaken.
How long do I have to wait between treatments?
We recommend a minimum of 4 weeks between treatments in order to ensure all the swelling has gone down, and that the site has healed optimally. Fat dissolving happens slowly over the course of a few weeks and the body takes time to process the dissolved fat.
How long do the results last?
Fat dissolving injections result in permanent and long-lasting fat-loss of the targeted area. However, should the patient gain excess weight, new fat cells can take their place. It is recommended that the patient upkeep a healthy diet and lifestyle for best results and longevity.
Is there any down-time?
Significant swelling is a common side-effect of fat dissolving treatment and can last up to 1 – 2 weeks. Tenderness and general discomfort may occur immediately and for the next few days following treatment. Depending on the area, patients may cover with clothing for a discrete effect.
